The Connemara Pony National Stud offers visitors the opportunity to visit a working Stud, home to an elite selection of Grade A, Class 1 Connemara Performance pony Stallions, a diverse range of brood mares and young stock in training. Experience seeing the ponies in a relaxed and natural environment and during the breeding season watch the foals frolick in the paddock. A miniature horse; the smallest in Connemara will also provide some hands on interaction and a visit to our visual centre where videos are played and photos line the walls of breeders and ponys. An old forge on site which has a collection from yeteryear of the old tools. Younger children may also delight in following the Fairy Trail through the Stud.
Visits are guided and last approx 45 minutes for a fully escorted tour throughout the Stud.
Our Equestrian Centre, approved by A.I.R.E. offers something for everyone from the novice to the accomplished rider. We provide qualified and experienced staff, well schooled horses and ponies and a trek to suit all, from trekking along country lanes, mountainside, bog trails to beach rides.
